The Butcher’s Table (SS2)

I eat about four steaks a year. But since today we were celebrating my wife’s birthday early, decided to take the family to The Butcher’s Table to try some sirloin.

Located cosily in the midst of the SS2 housing area, this place is popular enough to require table reservations, especially on weekends (let alone Raya Day 1).

We saw many folks get turned away so that says a lot, I guess.

I think we were all pretty much starving so we skipped the appetizers. As mentioned, I was craving steak so, voilà…!

Verdict: Very good. I ordered medium done-ness and, whilst I’m no steak connoisseur, I found the meat tasty and bloody enough.

That green stuff is avocado. Uh, not my kind of thing. But the mashed potatoes with gravy (which looks like a vocanic crater, right?) was awesome.

Need to jog an extra mile tomorrow.

My wife ordered Bacon Fried Rice. I didn’t try it but she says it’s fantastic so I trust her.

We (a party of four) also ordered a Spaghetti Carbonara and this ham dish (whose name I forgot). What can I say? Both were good enough for me to make positive mental notes should I return.

That slice of pineapple placed on the ham added some extra, uh, flavour.

This place is a bit like Euro Deli where you can also buy various kinds of meats. So, dinner + shopping. Who can resist?

All in all, I can see this place continuing to do very well. Price-wise, if one can afford places like Chilli’s and TGIF, then one wouldn’t complain too much here.

Check out their FB page.
